Conch Nachos, Regent Palms, Turks & Caicos. N: 9 out of 10. The Conch Nachos were hand made with Conch, Conch Ceviche, peppers, goat cheese and some mixed cheddar and mozzarella. If that combination doesn’t make your mouth water then I would just mark Turks & Caicos off your list and move on to the next destination. A: 8 out 10. I do not feel that the picture does these nachos justice as far as the quality of the ingredients used in the Conch Nachos. My one complaint with these nachos was in regards to the serving size. C: 9 out of 10. The Chip stability was excellent even with the amount of ceviche layered on them. H: 9 out of 10. As you can probably tell from the pictures I posted from The Bahamas and others from Turks, I am a huge Conch fan. However, these nachos took conch to the next level. Cracked Conch, Conch Fritters and Conch Chowder all take a backseat to the Conch Nachos from the Regent Palms. O: 9 out of 10. N: 6 out of 10. Deficiency in meat was the main weakness. Had some interesting twists -pickled onions, a variety of peppers - that added color and surprising taste combos. A: 7 out 10. Good looking plate of nachos well balanced in placement of the components and color balance. Queso was a little runny and lead to ... C: 5 out of 10 the queso got the best of the homemade chips which is surprising because chips on their own were solid. H: 7 out of 10. Good balance of flavors. Could not decide which I liked better. O: bumping up to a 7 out of 10 because in Zville, liked the joint, and they served mules in copper mugs. Double the meat and solve the queso problem and would have been higher.
Nitro-nus of Toppings: 9 Maybe it was the fresh air or feeling of being on vacation or the alcohol consumed at our previous stop . . . whatever it was, we could not get over this masterful creation. Instead of ruining it with our own words let's just refer to the menu description: "Our award winning fresh Ahi grade tuna nestled on a bed of sesame seaweed salad over crisp wontons and topped with wasabi drizzle, sesame seeds, sweet soy, sriracha and scallions" Mouth watering yet? Appearance: 8 Individually topped wonton chips are a site to behold, especially accompanied by a cold cocktail. Chip Stability: 8 Crunchy to the last bite. There were no bend to these chips. How Did They Taste: 9 So good that we had to order round 2 for dessert. Overall: 9 It had been awhile since the Dudes had been together and even longer since the Mrs. Dudes had the chance to hang out.
